Welcome

Serina Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately-held pharmaceutical company that is advancing novel therapeutics for cancer, inflammation, pain, neurologic and metabolic disorders using its proprietary polymer technology. We have created new pharmaceutical candidates using polyoxazoline (POZ) — a safe, water-soluble polymer to which we can attach a variety of small molecules, proteins, peptides and DNA. The attachment of these molecules to polymers of POZ typically confers a unique pharmacokinetic profile that is markedly different from the parent compound, and this profile may confer advantages in terms of safety and efficacy.

Serina has further advanced this approach to target the POZ conjugate molecule to specific receptors expressed predominantly on the surface of cancer cells. Thus, these drugs may have remarkable anti-cancer effects with minimal “off-target” side effects.

Serina is advancing its lead clinical oncology candidate SER-203 into IND-enabling studies in 2011-2012 and plans to launch its Phase I study in refractory cancer in early 2013. Serina’s initial focus will be in the areas of oncology, pain and neurological diseases, but its polymer platform can be applied to any number of unmet clinical needs.
